Sugar - Sweet, Cancer Feeding, and Deadly

The average American consumes two to three pounds of sugar each week. If they are ingesting more than their body can accomodate they are placing their short-term and long-term health at serious risk.

One major health issue with sugar is that is depresses the immune system. An influx of sugar into the bloodstream upsets the body’s blood-sugar balance, triggering the release of insulin. The body uses insulin to keep blood-sugar at safe, constant levels. Insulin also promotes the storage of fat, so foods high in sugar can lead to rapid weight gain and elevated triglyceride levels, both of which are linked to cardiovascular disease.

Complex carbohydrates are absorbed more slowly, lessening the impact on blood-sugar levels.

White blood cells need vitamin C to phagocytize (engulf and absorb) viruses and bacteria. To accumulate vitamin C white blood cells require a concentration inside the cell that is 50 times higher than that outside the cell.

Glucose and vitamin C have similar chemical structures and compete for one another upon entering the cell. Glucose and vitamin C enters cells after being mediated by the same thing. This means if there is more glucose than vitamin C, less vitamin C gets in. Your immune system is compromised with even a small consumption of sugar. For example, a blood sugar value of 120 reduces the phagocytic index by 75%. Note: this index measures your white blood cells ability to engulf and absorb viruses and bacteria.

The roots of disease are always at the cellular and molecular level, and more often than not insulin has a large role in it. Succombing to our desire for sweets, often to excess, has serious consequences to our health.

Habitually, ingesting sugar has certain health risks such as:

  • Aggravating asthma
  • Mood swings

  • Worsening nervous disorders
  • Promoting tooth decay
  • Increasing risk of coronary heart disease
  • Speed aging process
  • Glucose fuels cancer
  • Refined dietary sugars lack vitamins and minerals, and must rely on stored micro-nutrients within the body to be metabolized. When these stores are gone, cholesterol and fatty acid metabolization is impeded. This contributes to higher cholesterol and obesity. The American Diabetic Association and American Dietetic Association agree that sugar ingestion is one of the three major causes of degenerative disease in America.

    To be healthy and remain healthy, blood-glucose levels must be controlled through diet, exercise, supplements, meditation, and prescription drugs (when necessary).

    Why Do Liquid Form Nutritional Supplements Have Much Greater Bodily Absorption Than Pills

    Did you know that when you take vitamins and minerals in the traditional tablet or capsule form your body only assimilates 10 to 12% of the nutrients, and that figure drops to 3 to 5% after 35-40 years of age? Liquid (also known as colloidal) vitamin form provides the highest possible assimilation of nutrients into the body. Colloidal minerals and vitamin particles are over 7000 times smaller than a human cell. Approximately 98% of liquid form supplements ingested can be used by the body within 15 to 30 minutes. This percentage is far superior to the 3 to 10% assimilation of traditional pill and capsule supplements and means that you would have to take 10 to 20 multi-vitamin pills every day to have comparable assimilation. According to this research, liquid vitamins can be up to 10 times more effective than nutritional supplements in pill form.

    Supplements - How To Take Them

    It’s unfortunate but many people have digestive systems that find it hard to break down food and absorb nutrients - this can be caused by poor levels of stomach acid, toxic substances in the gut, insufficient production of digestive enzymes among other reasons.

    This condition can of course be dramatically improved as nutrient intake is increased slowly. An organic diet is of course the healthiest you can use but you may just need to compensate for any shortfalls and take some supplements.

    You don’t need to visit your doctor to take supplements they can be self-prescribed once taken in small regular amounts, which can be ideal for treating any minor health problems.

    Taken Supplements in large amounts for either nutritional support of server pathological conditions have been found to be therapeutic on their own or with conventional medical treatments. Always remember larger doses should be taken under the supervision of your physician or nutritional therapist.

    When To Take Supplements

    The best time to take supplements is with meals the body can absorb it best when your digestive system has been stimulated by the presence of food. Time-released formulas should be taken with food as to make sure they travel through the body at the correct speed and for efficient release at the appropriate place.

    Water-soluble vitamins quickly pass through the body, so basically taken them twice or three times a day is often the best practice. Fat-soluble vitamins are better absorbed if taken with meals that include some fat. Almost all minerals work in conjunction with vitamins and should be taken along with them.

    Some minerals can interfere with the absorption of others so make sure to take them at different time to your multiformula. If you multiformula contains antagonistic minerals there will not be enough to conflict with one another so you don’t need to worry.

    Vitamins A, D, E - Should be taken with meals which include a little oil or Fat

    Vitamin B-Complex - This should be taken first thing in the morning to give maximum energy, but can of course be taken anytime especially if taken with whole grains.

    Vitamin C - Taken with meal if possible, can be taken on an empty stomach if you don’t feel like eaten because of a cold. Take two or three times a day.

    Time-Release - Take with your main meal of the day.

    Iron - Best absorbed with food.

    Calcium - About 30 minutes before bedtime.

    Magnesium - About 30 minutes before bedtime.
